Introduction

At the start of each walk, a quick summary of the length and height is supplied.

For example:

Distance 4km (1.6 miles) 300 feet of ascent

The distance is the ground distance the walk takes.

The ascent height is the total height climbed. This is not the highest point of the walk. For example, if a circular walk starts at a height of 100 Above Sea Level (ABS); then goes up a hill which has a height of 150 ABS; then goes down into a valley at a height 50 ABS; then up another hill which has a height of 110 ABS before returning to the start; then the ascent height is:

(150-100) + (110-50) = 50+60 = 110.
