A View From Ameycroft Lane

If you are folowing the car route, after passing the Red House Carriage Museum

Continuing along the road, it rejoins the A6 in 200 metres.

  1. At the A6 turn left
  2. In 60 metres turn right up Greenway Lane
  3. Continue up Greenway Lane, passing Darley Dale Primary School on the left, where the road turns right and Greenway Lane becomes less steep
  4. After 1.25 kilometres (0.75 miles) Greenway Lane ends and Hackney Road starts. This is where the road starts to go downhill - park the car here A Walk
  5. Walk up Ameycroft Lane which forks off to the left
  6. At around 300 metres there are superb views over the valley

To return to the route, turn the car around and go back along Greenway Lane and at the A6 turn left towards Matlock.
